The Norwich High School, (abbr. 'NHS'), is located at Midland Drive in Norwich, New York and connected adjacent to the Norwich Middle School, (abbr. 'NMS'). NHS is known as the "Home of the Purple Tornado," the mascot symbol and pride of Norwich City Schools athletic teams, dawning the spirit colors of purple and white.

The NHS/NMS buildings have recently undergone renovations, as well as Ulrich Field, the school's athletic field.
750-plus students, grades 9 - 12, are estimated to attend Norwich High School each semester. Approximately 60-65 teachers and faculty hold class size averages between 15 and 20 students. An assortment of courses and advanced honors classes include social studies, English, math, science, art, Spanish, and French. Additionally, Rochester Institute of Technology offers college creditation courses with "Project Lead the Way," allowing high school age students to complete college courses in engineering.
A semester at Norwich High School requires students to complete no less than 6.5 credits between three 80-minute classes as well as physical education. Semesters run between September - January, February - June, each ending with mandatory New York State Regents exams
